Food for Thought

Our creator blessed us with abundant food for the nourishment and health of our bodies. But like the Israelites in the wilderness, rather than eat the manna provided, we desire foods more pleasing to our taste buds and more convenient for our fast paced life style. Unfortunately, the consequence of poor diet choices has been our health.

A Long, Long Time Ago…

  • In 1901, the United States was classified as the healthiest nation in the world among one hundred nations studied.

  • In 1981, we had dropped to 59th place.

  • In 1988, the Surgeon General of the United States found that 80% of all the disease in our country could be directly linked to diet.

  • In 2017, the United States’ health grade was 73.05, ranking it 34th out of 188 countries, mostly due to its high levels of overweight and obese residents. The top two healthiest countries – Italy and Iceland -- are similar in that their food is incredibly fresh, with most of it being locally-sourced.

A major part of my service, is therefore committed to education in the basics of proper diet and nutrition -- to understand the manna we’ve been given and how to incorporate that into our fast paced lifestyle.

You Are What You Eat…

To be more accurate, we might say, “you are what you’re able to absorb and unable to detoxify or eliminate.”

Even if we make all the right food choices, we may still need to supplement nutrients for a variety of reasons:

  • Our foods are grown in nutrient depleted soils, sprayed with insecticides, and picked too early.

  • Our foods are shipped, canned, or processed with fillers or shelf-life maintainers.

  • There are toxic chemicals in the air we breathe and the water we drink.

  • The products we put on our bodies are laced with questionable or harmful ingredients.

  • The doctor-prescribed chemicals we take in the form of pharmaceuticals can also cause depletion of vital nutrients.

This toxic burden can overload our immune system and affect not only our digestive system, but also our detoxification system.

So, the dilemma becomes: what nutrients do I supplement with? All nutrient products such as vitamins, mineral, herbs, etc are considered foods rather than pharmaceuticals and are, consequently, not as well regulated. I recommend, and personally use, nutrient lines that are proven to be top quality and can only be obtained through a health professional.

Detective of Wellness…

Sherlock Holmes would have difficulty hunting down the right avenue of health with all these obstacles! Discovering the right program for you requires some insightful detective work, that’s where I step in.

Each individualized program begins with private consultations including symptomology questionnaires, appropriate labs, and one-on-one interviews. It is my goal in these early meetings, to dig deeper into your health. I believe to achieve complete wellness, the person needs to be treated as a whole, rather than by disease symptoms.

After the initial phase, your tailored wellness program will include diet and life-style recommendations as well as supplement protocols -- including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, botanicals, and homeopathic remedies.

We are each as unique on the inside as our fingerprints are on the outside. I hope to help you customize your unique route on the pathway to health. God Bless!
