If it is true that "we are what we eat", we must be really sweet, because the main thing we eat is sugar. The average American consumes over 105 pounds of sugar per year. Studies have shown that sweets and desserts, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages comprise almost 25 percent of all calories consumed by Americans. Unfortunately, while we may be sweet, we are also sick.

These sugary foods cause inflammation that results in far too many disease states to list, but a few of the main ones are:
Obesity and Diabetes
Heart Disease
Immune System Depression/Cancer
Accelerated Aging
Inflammatory Brain Conditions
Chronic Diseases including Degenerative Diseases
Chronic Pain
Back in 1988 the Surgeon General's report stated that "approximately 2/3 of all deaths in US are associated with imbalance in diet and nutrition". The truth is "what we eat" is the main thing that determines "who we are" health wise.
